Our 2025 Impact

Empowering Girls. Transforming Communities.

In 2025, the United Girls’ Foundation (UGF) continued its mission of supporting vulnerable girls through education, mentorship, health support, and community empowerment under the Empower Her Fund Project. The project focused on improving access to education, school attendance, dignity, and long-term opportunities for girls in underserved communities in Kaliro District, Eastern Uganda.

EDUCATION SUPPORT

Through the generous support of donors, partners, volunteers, and well-wishers, UGF successfully supported vulnerable learners at Kaliro Demonstration Primary School with holistic educational and welfare assistance.

We provided:

  • School fees and examination support
  • Scholastic materials and school supplies
  • School uniforms, shoes, sweaters, and bags
  • Boarding and welfare support for vulnerable learners
  • Academic monitoring and mentorship

As a result:

  • School attendance improved from approximately 40% to over 80%
  • 100% of supported learners were promoted to the next class
  • Classroom participation and confidence improved significantly
Menstrual Hygiene & Dignity Support

UGF provided sanitary pads, menstrual hygiene education, and school-based coordination to ensure girls could stay in school comfortably and confidently during their menstrual cycles.

Impact:

  • Reduced menstruation-related absenteeism
  • Improved confidence and classroom participation
  • Better retention during examinations and assessments

One sponsored girl faced long and difficult daily journeys to school, leading to fatigue, lateness, and absenteeism. In 2025, UGF placed her in boarding to provide a safer and more supportive learning environment.

Results:

  • Attendance increased to over 80%
  • Academic focus improved
  • Punctuality and participation increased
  • Reduced physical and emotional stress

This demonstrated the powerful impact of targeted welfare and boarding support for vulnerable girls in rural communities.
